Everyone who regularly reads my newsletter knows that I love America. I have put my life on the line more than a few times as an Airborne Ranger in Viet Nam and as a police officer in LA county for more than 20 years. I took an oath as a soldier and as a police officer that says in part, “I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”
With the declassification and release of the secret documents dealing with the “Russia hoax,” the truth of the 2016 presidential election has been exposed. Some on the Right are calling for treason charges against President Obama. The definition of treason includes “…the offense of attempting to overthrow the government of one’s country.”
I’ll leave it to you to determine if President Obama committed treason or not. However, it should be clear to anyone who does not have Trump Derangement Syndrome that what was perpetrated against Trump was a true threat to democracy, a charge we hear from the Democrats against Republicans all the time.
The ”Russia hoax” was a planned takeover of our government. How was this possible in a country with our Constitution and with its safeguards in place? Plato warned us of this type of thing hundreds of years ago when he said, “The price good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men.” Too many good people fail to pay attention to what is happening in our government and its agencies. The Democratic party operatives and the willing media perpetrated this hoax on America, costing vast amounts of wasted tax dollars.
I believe it’s a training issue. Our school system is not teaching civics and American History. Too many people take our freedoms for granted, without thinking about those who risked their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor for what we have enjoyed for 249 years. Alfred S. Regnery told us that “The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were based on the premise that government was a great threat to freedom, and the purpose of a Constitution was to limit the power of government.” Too many people today only think of what the government can give them. They don’t remember the words of John F. Kennedy, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”
It is well past time for freedom-loving citizens to wake up to what has been happening for the last ten years. In Taylor Caldwell’s book “A Pillar of Iron,” she said, “A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gate is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely.”
Another problem that I have witnessed in the past few decades is that our young people have not had to work for their freedom. They believe it will always be there. Thomas Paine knew better when he said, “What we obtain too cheaply, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives everything its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as freedom should not be highly rated.”
I am having a tough time understanding how anyone who voted for these progressives can rationalize continuing to vote for them after what we now know about the truth of the Russia hoax. I have a friend who always votes Democratic. She tells me that there are many things that she doesn’t like about the Democratic Party, but she continues to vote for them because she likes one or two things they stand for. She hasn’t talked to me since Trump won the election.
Ronald Reagan said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it on to our children in the bloodstream. The only way they can inherit the freedom we have known is if we fight for it, protect it, defend it, and then hand it to them with the well-fought lessons of how they in their lifetime must do the same. And if you and I don’t do this, then you and I may well spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it once was like in America when men were free.”
There is an old clique that says, “Lie to me once, shame of you, lie to me twice, shame on me.” We all need to stop listening to the Left leaning media, the Left leaning entertainers, and the Democratic politicians. They are the ones who are destroying democracy in this country. Use the common sense the Lord gave you and you will understand who is trying to take away your rights and your freedom.
